NZ Part 1. Traveling to, and arriving at, Homer Hut in Fiordland National Park, New Zealand. It turned out that the Homer Hut was decommissioned. It was in the midst of being rebuilt, but it had a roof and walls (who could ask for anything more?).

andrewg > The bunkroom at Homer Hut. The bunkroom was in the same state of disrepair (or re-repair) as the rest of the hut, and smelled of mold, but it was dry and the roof didn't leak. I slept in my sleeping bag on the lower bunk on the left. I started out on top of a pair of stacked mattresses that both sagged in the middle, resulting in a deep bowl. I woke up in the morning curled into a little ball in the middle of the bowl.
